Christ’s Church Ocala is blessed with people who understand both the purpose and the art of music. Our Sunday morning worship services are geared to the times and anchored to the Rock. We’re not interested in entertaining. Our worship minister, Joseph Dossey and all the talented folks who help him sincerely endeavor to lead the congregation in meaningful praise and worship of God. We don’t have singers and musicians you watch – we have singers and musicians who create a worship atmosphere in which all are encouraged to participate and be fully engaged in personal and corporate worship.
The team at Christ’s Church Ocala loves kids of all ages. We recognize the spiritual responsibility of dealing with children. Our goal in every aspect of children’s ministry is to introduce kids to the teachings of Scripture in meaningful and enjoyable ways. Jessica Burhart, our Children’s Ministry Director, is assisted by many volunteers who truly have a heart for kids. We offer a children’s church, Sunday School classes, and classes in our Midweek event on Wednesday evenings. We also have protocols in place to be sure kids are safe and well cared for in all activities.
The congregation of Christ’s Church Ocala is very excited about our ministry to Middle School and High School students. Joseph Dossey serves as our Student Minister in addition to leading our worship services. In a world where more and more young people in their teenage years seemingly get lost in the swirl of social media and peer pressure, we seek to provide a Christian fellowship where all teens are loved and accepted. We are also keenly aware of the necessity of spiritual education for teens. We have Sunday School classes and Midweek classes for teens. We also encourage participation in fun events for fellowship and mutual encouragement and support. We also provide exceptional spiritual events for teens like Christian Service Camp and Christ in Youth retreats.
Our senior citizens at Christ’s Church Ocala are not couch potatoes! In addition to Sunday School and Midweek activities, there are numerous opportunities for Christian fellowship each month. Senior Adults Pastor Jeff O’Cull leads our seniors in regular Bible Studies, Forever Young outings each month (which usually involve going out to eat) and a calendar of special activities and opportunities for both fellowship and service.
When you come to worship services at Christ’s Church Ocala, we hope you will truly worship with us. Our song service usually weaves contemporary praise music with older hymns that lead every person present to offer sincere, heartfelt, genuine worship to the God we adore. We also observe the Lord’s Supper (also known as communion) each Sunday. A brief meditation leads us to the proper state of mind to remember the sacrifice of Christ. We practice an open communion – meaning that all believers in Christ are welcome to participate. Each Sunday you will also hear a message from God’s Word which is designed to educate, elevate, and inspire. Our goal is that each person present leave the service feeling closer to the Lord than ever before.
Christ’s Church Ocala offers Sunday School classes for all ages. We are committed to teaching God’s Word. We have excellent teachers who seek to impart the great truths of Jesus Christ to their students. We want people to learn how to study God’s Word, apply God’s Word, and effectively share God’s Word. We sincerely believe what the psalmist wrote long ago: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
